Shenzhen Dimsum is a must have when you are in the city. Yumcha is a weekend ritual of getting together with friends or family (and in this workaholic city business partners) to share some Dimsum for brunch or lunch. Whole chains of restaurants such as Chunmanyuan and Laurel have created restaurant empires on the backs of this Cantonese cuisine. Prices for Cantonese restaurants can run the gamut but if you find yourself in a Dimsum restaurant with mostly Hong Kongese people smoking and betting on horses you are having an authentic Cantonese Dimsum experience. Shaomai and Chasiubao are some of our favorite items to order. More and more Dimsum menus have English though the translations can be a bit confusing. Oh, and don't forget to order the Chicken feet. We hear they are delicious but we never dared try!
